Growth, inequality and carbon emissions: an analysis of the environmental kuznets curve hypothesis in emerging market economies

چکیده
Bu çalışmada panel veri analizine dayalı olarak yükselen piyasa ekonomilerinde karbondioksit emisyonu, gelir eşitsizliği, ekonomik büyüme, enerji ve yenilenebilir kullanımı arasındaki ilişki Çevresel Kuznets Eğrisi perspektifinden incelenmektedir. Çalışmada Borghesi’nin (2000) çalışmasından yararlanılarak 2000-2017 dönemi için ekonomilerinde, hipotezi eşitsizlik ölçüsü GINI katsayısının, kullanımının emisyonu üzerindeki etkisi regresyon modelleri ile tahmin edilmektedir. Çalışmanın ekonometrik analiz sonuçlarına göre; hipotezinin geçerli olduğu, dolayısıyla çevre bozulması büyüme arasında ters-U ilişkisinin bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ek eşitsizliğindeki artış karbon emisyonunda azalışa neden olmaktadır. Elde edilen bulgular, farklı yöntemler uygulanan literatürdeki diğer bulguları benzerlik göstermektedir. bağlamda politika yapıcıların refahı arttırıcı politikalar yanında, sürdürülebilir bir büyümenin sağlanması çevrenin baskıyı azaltıcı uygulamaları kaynaklarına yönelmeleri önemlilik arz etmektedir.
